Sastra Angkor Institute (SAI) has adapted the semester system. Academic year is varied to the programs but the first semester of the first year of Foundation Year, Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree, Master Degree and Doctor of Philosophy are determined by the management. A semester has sixteen weeks.

Course Load
|
A student's course load may vary from program to program. The minimum for students in Foundation Year is 5 courses per semester, students in Associate Degree need to study 6 courses per semester, students in Bachelor Degree need to study 6 courses per semester. However for the final year it will depend on the programs. Students in Master Degree need to study 3 courses per term and students in Doctoral Degree need to study two courses in first semester then they will do research. |
Examination
|
Each program studied at Sastra Angkor Institute (SAI) concludes with a written examination. The examination is conducted every semester under the supervision of the Institute. Besides, there is a final state examination which is controlled by the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training. Failed candidates are entitled to re-do the examination. However, students who failed twice for undergraduate and once for postgraduate, they have to restart the course again. To ensure that examinations properly conducted in the university, strict rules and procedures are established with the participation of the Quality Assurance Bureau and all departments concerned. The examination control office help control in all examinations from undergraduate to post graduate levels, and in all SAI's campuses in Phnom Penh as well as in the provinces. |
Credit Transfer

Sastra Angkor Insitute accepts transfer students provided that they are in good standing with the last university attended which is recognized by Ministry of Education Youth & Sports or Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training. The maximum number of credit transferred depends on the requirement of specific program. To ensure proper processing of applications for admission, each student must request an official transcript and forward it to the concerned office. The request transfer will be approved by the management of Institute. |
Graduation:
|
In order to graduate, students must complete all credits based on program requirements. Student should refer to the specific program course of Sastra Angkor Institute. To graduate, students must earn a minimum grade of C for Under Graduate and C+ for Post Graduate for all courses. The Academic Council requires the students to study at least, 2 academic years for Associate Degree, 4 academic years for Bachelor Degree, 2 academic years for Master, 3 academic years for Doctoral Degree and 3 academic years for Post-Doctoral Degree.

General Requirement

The applicant for Associate program must have high school diploma or equivalent degree or a certificate certifying that he/she did not pass the high school examination. The applicant for Bachelor program must have high school diploma or equivalent degree from a duly recognized school.

How to Apply
Sastra Angkor Institute offers walk-in application on arrival at any of the campuses of the university and new students register for classes during the opening week. The prospective students must:
- Have transcript from any school which is recognized by Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports or Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training.
- Fill out the admission application form, specify the program, faculty, major etc., sign their name, application date and attach three 4 x 6 cm. photographs.
- Submit the application form and documents for admission along with tuition fee depend on the program.

Grading System
|
All required study programmes, comprehensive examinations, Assignments, Projects, Thesis and Dissertations are graded by faculties and sent to the academic administration. Different levels of achievement are graded as follows:
A Grade Point Average "C" is required for graduation in undergraduate studies. |

The applicant for Master degree must have a bachelor degree in respective discipline or related area in which he/she is interested to pursue the study he/she must graduate from recognized institute. |
