For Arts and Sciences, Business, and Leadership Studies undergraduates, please visit the School of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, and/or the School of Leadership Studies for links to department and program websites.
To declare a major in your home school, please complete a Declaration Form (available in the Office of the Institute Registrar). The form requires that all first majors of the primary curriculum must be approved by the department chair and have an advisor assigned. The form should be returned to the Office of the Insitute Registrar in General Hall. Declarations of all must be received in the Registrar's Office during the two-week add/drop period to be effective for that term. Declarations received after the add/drop period will not be processed until the end of the term.
Registration Priority
Some departments offer registration priority to students who have declared a major within that department as the first major of their primary curriculum. Registration priority is only available for the first major of the primary curriculum. All need to be completed at the time of graduation, however, will be reflected on the transcript.
Business and Leadership Studies Students
Students wishing to major in Leadership Studies, Business, Economics-Business or Accounting or minor in Business must apply and be selected by the School of Leadership Studies or Business School during the sophomore year.
When should I declare my first major of my primary curriculum?
Students have the option to declare at the end of the first year. Such declarations will be effective as of June 1. Students are encouraged to declare during their sophomore year, and expected to have declared by the end of the sophomore year.
Interschool Declaration Process
Students who wish to declare outside of their home school must complete the Interschool Curriculum section of the Declaration Form available in the Office of the Institute Registrar. This form requires the approval of the appropriate dean or department chair. Upon approval, the form must be turned into the Office of the Insitute Registrar in General Hall.
