Requirement for Graduations

    General Requirement

To be able to earn a degree in our faculty, students have to possess a high school certificate, foundation year certificate, and courses in each field of study in Cambodian University for Specialties. Basically, students must earn 64 credits for an associate degree and 126 credits for a bachelor's degree, including transfer credits, to earn a degree.

For the 64 credits to earn an associate's degree, students are required to have a minimum requirement - a certificate of failure of high school. For the 126 credits to earn a bachelor's degree, students have to earn 30 credits of foundation year (holding a foundation year certificate) and 108 credits of core course and required course. Meanwhile, the number of credit of core course and required course vary according to the program of study.

For transfer students from other tertiary institutions, at least 36 credits applicable to any associate degree must be earned at CUS. If a student is a graduate wanting to earn a second bachelor's degree, student must complete courses beyond the first bachelor's degree. Student must meet all general requirements and specific requirements for both degrees.


     Specific Requirement

To earn an associate degree, students who have successfully earned credits of core course are required to take the state examination. To earn a bachelor degree, students who have successfully completed the core courses are required to do additional required courses as well as writing final project paper or a practicum with a report.

  • B.A. in TEFL: Students are required to take a state examination, join a teaching practicum and write a report on teaching practicum.
  • B.A. in Translation and Interpretation: Students are required to take a state examination, and write a final project paper.
  • B.Ed in Education Administration: Students are required to take a state examination and write a final project paper.
  • BEng. HM: Students are required to take a state examination and write a final project paper
Suggested Field of Study

Faculty of Education and Languages offers the opportunity for the students to specialize in the following fields:

  • English language
  • Education in Geography,Pedagogical Psychology,History,Khmer Literature

In field of English language, students are able to earn a Bachelor of Art in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), in TI (Translation and Interpretation). In field of Education, students are able to earn a Bachelor of Education in EA (Education Administration). In field of combined program between English and Educational, students are able to earn a Bachelor of English and Education in Pedagogical Psychology,Geography.....

Suggested Program of Study

Students enroll in the either associate's or bachelor's degree. A two-year course for associate program to meet the needs of the students who require skills and knowledge necessary in their careers in an intermediate length of time. Meanwhile, it has an opportunity to continue to do a bachelor degree. A four-year course for bachelor degree - one year in Foundation year and other three years in Bachelor courses. Students will acquire more competency in the field of study necessary for careers ranging from the mundane to professional management tasks and to continue to do a master or a higher degree.
